About Me

Hi, I’m Rachel Hager, a digital artist and 2D animator based in New York. In my spare time, I enjoy drawing, creating characters, and building worlds; these interests have been with me for as long as I can remember.

In high school, I joined a premier art program that helped me build a strong foundation in art. During my freshman year, my passion for illustration and traditional art led me to discover animation as a new way to tell stories. I committed to pursuing it professionally and quickly adapted to digital work, learning Photoshop and using a drawing tablet.

I went on to study at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), where I earned my BFA in 2023. Collaborating with fellow artists on a range of projects, including my senior film, helped me grow both technically and as a storyteller.

My vision is to craft narratives that encourage reflection and illuminate not just our flaws but also the resilience and growth of the human experience. Drawing inspiration from culture, history, and modern progress, I aim for my work to inspire thoughtful conversations that celebrate the beauty and ingenuity shaping our world. At the same time, cosmic and Lovecraftian horror fuel my imagination. I am captivated by the tension between human fragility and the quest for meaning in the vast unknown. The contrast between dread and hope is deeply compelling and remains central to the stories I want to tell.
